Genius Hour is more about the process than the product itself. It's about persevering and working hard at something. It's about experimenting, and trial and error. It's about reflecting on what works and what doesn't work and why. It's about helping each other–sharing materials, encouraging, holding something in place while tape or glue is applied. It's about imagination, creativity, self-direction, tenacity, and for this round of projects, a whole lot of Yes paste, duct tape and foam core board.
Our first semester of Genius Hour came to a close and the students worked hard to prepare to present their projects. They organized their talking points on index cards and practiced using presentation voices and making eye contact with their audience.
Thank you to everyone that came to our presentation/celebration on 12/20 and asked such great questions. I encourage you to check out everyone's Genius Hour pages on their Weeblies and comment (they love comments), but especially Xander's, Mary & Chloe C.'s, Moritz's and Luke's, as their GH presentations involve either a slideshow or video.
